Wagyu beef originated in Japan. In fact, "Wagyu" means "Japanese beef" and is derived from any of four (4) different Japanese breeds of cattle - Kuroge (Japanese Black), Akage (Japanese Brown), Nihon Tankaku (Japanese Shorthorn), and Mukaku (Japanese Polled).
Wagyu beef is truly delicious, but it is also purported to be healthier than other beef. It contains a high amount of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. Researchers have found that Wagyu beef may help lower the risk of heart disease, depression, dementia and arthritis. Wagyu beef fat melts at a lower temperature than other beef, which makes it juicier and more tender. Wagyu beef has exceptional marbling and offers an exquisite buttery flavor.
Like our Angus beef, our Wagyu beef contains no growth hormones, is natural, and is finished at a timeframe, so as to maximize the marbling, texture and taste. We work with our local butcher’s to age our beef, in order to ensure the best flavor possible.
